Frequently asked questions about microcement

Is microcement only for interiors?

No, microcement can be installed both indoors and outdoors, although it is true that outdoors require a different treatment and adaptation, as it is an area exposed to inclement weather. That is why at TECNOCEMENTO we have developed our High Transit, ideal for high traffic areas but also highly resistant for outdoor areas where the pavement is exposed to sudden changes in temperature.

In which areas is it usual to install microcement?

Most commonly, it is installed on floors and walls. Microcement has many possibilities. In areas such as the kitchen it is perfect to install on the worktop, in areas such as the bathroom it is ideal for showers, washbasins… but you can also use microcement to cover any type of furniture (from shelves to decorative pieces), headboards, stairs…

Are there different types of microcement finishes?

Of course we do. At Microcemento we have six different systems (Home, Plus, Imper, Industry, High Transit and Vintage). Each of them is designed to create a different end result to suit the client’s taste. From more homogeneous spaces to much more decorative spaces.

In terms of colours, we have a wide range of 49 from which to choose your favourite. If you choose the Vintage system you will have an exclusive range for this system that will give that rustic and different finish.

Frequently asked questions about microcement

What are the cleaning and maintenance requirements for microcement?

Microcement is very easy to clean, all you need is a neutral soap. As for maintenance, it is enough to use a natural wax once every three weeks (if you want to know more we invite you to read our post about products to clean microcement). In many cases and depending on the type of finish that has been given to the coating, it is possible that we can clean it with any type of product and even that we do not even have to do any type of maintenance. For this reason, always ask the company that carried out the work.

Can anyone install microcement?

Although it is not an excessively complex product, it is true that it is a product that must be weighed, measured and its installation must be precise. For this reason, at TECNOCEMENTO we recommend that it is carried out by a qualified professional, who has the training courses that guarantee that he/she is prepared and that the result will be what we expect.

In TECNOCEMENTO we have been working with microcement and training professionals for more than 15 years, so, whether you want to learn with our training courses to apply it, as if you want a budget, we are at your disposal.

However, if you are a handyman, we have the perfect solution for you: our ready-to-use microcement CEMENTEC. This microcement comes already grouted, ready to use and does not require any prior training for installation (you will find all the training you need in our online videos). So, if you dare to install it yourself, you can ask for information at info@cementec.es and we will be happy to advise you.

These are some of the most frequently asked questions about microcement, but whether you want to be a future approved applicator, or if you want to carry out a project with us, we may have more questions. That is why we encourage you to contact us and solve all your doubts.
